According to an article at the Arutz Sheva website, new apartment sales in Jerusalem doubled in January of this year, compared to January of 2008.  Sales of new apartments in Haifa were also up for this same period but only moderately at a 12% increase.  The rest of the country experienced a decrease in sales over the same 12 month period by as much as 33%.

The article also states that supply of unsold apartments is dropping slightly with the end of January 09 supply at 2% less than the previous month.
