Old Jaffa train station gets new life
The old Jaffa train station, the first in Israel, which started operation in 1892 with service between Jaffa and Jerusalem is getting a major overhaul, an impressive renovation which will make it one of the top “places to see and be” in Tel Aviv. The train station is located between Jaffa, Neve Tzedek and the sea.
Part of the project will open in just a few months with the remaining businesses to open in 2010. The developer’s vision for the Tahana (station) is a unique place for culture, entertainment and leisure that will attract visitors from Tel Aviv and around the country. The Project’s design calls for keeping as much of the original station intact as possible.
